wow! a year ago was my last post!

I'm back!
What a year it has been. Working on our new home, foot surgery again for me, heart attack for Robin and job woes. Life is never dull for us.

My foot was operated on in December and doing a little better but still giving me some problems with swelling and nerve pain. Guess it will just take time.

Had a wonderful trip with the kids to Clearwater Florida in April. Robin had his heart attack in June. We have had some wonderful moments in between. It seems like we are always doing something but despite all of this we are doing good.

I am down to 14 hours a week at work due to the fact the grant funding the room was turned down by the library board since they wanted funding for the whole library not just the history room. The lost of my income has been hard but it has been nice to spend time with my husband. His heart attack has been an eye opener telling us to slow down and eat healthier.

Linda my co worker and I have started a motorcoach business now we just need to get people booking trips. But I have faith we can do it we just need to be patient.

Well that has been our life in a nut shell for the last year hopefully it won't be another year until my next posting. Maybe with the reduced hours I will be better about it.

its hell getting old

Well here I am another older and feeling my age. Fortunately my foot is starting to feel better. The nerve still causes a lot of pain but I hope time will take care of that. I had a very nice birthday and it ended walking along Lake Michigan hand in hand watching the sunset.

I am so excited about our vacation next week I can barely focus on my work, its almost like a little kid. We both need a vacation bad right about now.
Good news the house has taken another big step toward being ready. We now have a plumber working with us so by next month we should be with a temp. permit to occupy. We get our permanent one after that.

3 YEARS!

Yesterday was our three year anniversary. Despite working it was a nice day. Hot in the 90's with high humidity. Robin brought me in some flowers and a card, we them went out to Ramshorn by the lake for dinner. Very nice, nothing fancy feels like your eating in a boat house your surrounded by lakes and a very pretty golf course but more importantly the food was good.

Other good news we passed the rough inspection and now when the sewer and water is hooked up we can start moving...long lst it seems like it was so long ago when we started all of this. It is getting close now.

We go soon to Isle Royale I can't wait for that. Robin never has been there so I hope he enjoys this. I feel like a kid counting the days.

wild kingdom days!

OK I don't know what is going on. My life has become even stranger than usual.
A few weeks ago going home from work I had two big work horses charging down the road toward me on the loose. They were well trained and when they came toward my car they slowed down and lead me back to their farm so I knocked on the door told the guy. They walked with me to the front door and promptly took off again when a car whent by to fast and to close.

I have a neighbor with baby goats and on several nights I have returned babies to the barn they are so small they fit through the fence. Cute little buggers but I am afraid one will get hit in the road. I see baby fawns and deer daily. Last week I actually say a momma with triplets that still had their spots.
Robin and I saw a eagle sitting in a tree on one of our drives.
Now the good stuff! well depending on how you look at it.

Last Tues. morning taking Mom home from the eye Dr. we had a momma sand hill crane with a baby within three feet of my car door screaming at me in the road. She would not get off the road no matter what I did, I understood when I saw her baby. I had to angle the car to slow down a guy coming way to fast. He would of hit them if I didn't instead he passed on my right side never slowing down. Poor Momma crane was yelling at me something awful who knew they could be so loud. But at least they were safe. I never saw a momma with a baby so close they were beautiful and very very loud.

This week coming from Moms apt. we stopped and watched a coyote running around and playing in a field with no concern about us. He might of been after a rabbit we didn't see but I like to think he was just enjoying a beautiful summer day.

I am sure there are more I am not telling of right now we have raccoons, opossums, fox and bear all the time but this is something unusual. I wonder what am I going to see tonight when I leave work.

Then it happened last night!! I pulled in the driveway not seeing anything around with my windows down. Out of the blue I had a rottweiler boxer mix (Full grown) jump through my car window in one smooth jump landing in my lap and giving me puppy kisses and drooling all over me. Thank God Sheba wasn't with me! I spent the next 1 and 1/2 hours driving with him jumping up on my car every time I slowed down. I went and asked neighbors Robin thought he belonged to but no such luck. Robin held him by the collar I escaped then with Sheba (big mistake) I returned with rolled up windows to drive up and down the power line until the poor dog was exhausted. Going up and down our drive blowing the horn which Robin did not hear. Finally I found a guy who said it belonged to his uncle and he took him. I am just thankful he was friendly and Sheba or Sophie wasn't with me when he landed in the car. You know they would try to protect me and it would of been furry baby wars on my lap. My car is scratched up but no harm other than that. I was on the phone with Robin when it happened. He found it rather normal and didn't seem surprised at all.

What will it be tonight!

Oh if only I had a camera! If anyone talks to my husband a small mention of birthday in a couple of weeks and my adventures it might not be a bad gift idea.

Life is always an adventure you never know what is around the corner.

House update

The house is looking good. Yesterday the headers for the three season porch went on. It is going to be nice with those high ceilings. When Robin kept talking about adding on this room and the breezeway I thought he had lost his mind but it is going to be nice. I always knew it was but being the true Dutch girl that I am I worried about money. The house is going to be nice it just is taking so long:( As always I just need to trust Robin to do the right thing he always seems to after a fashioned. If nothing else he has taught me to be more patient and all good things are worth waiting for. The delay in the house has not been his fault he has worked hard at it it has just been life and Menard's mistakes. Heat and water should be in this week:)

Pavia's Birthday

Gee can you believe it! Pavia is one year old already. She has grown so fast I wish we lived closer to be able to see her more.
